Unleash YOUR Power!

Unleash YOUR Power!

If you believe in fairies…then clap your hands!

Remember that old song we all used to sing when we were young and believed in miracles?

If Tinkerbell could get well with the clap of your hands, then why can’t everyone?

I can still remember singing along with this song as a little girl. I would clap my hands three times as hard as I could imagining that if I clapped hard enough, tinkerbell might just come back to life.

This is only a childhood fairytale of course but it’s core message,  is golden.

Faith, belief and a willingness to think positively might just have some magic.

When do we lose such innocent belief that all things are possible?

The death of a family pet might plant the first seed of doubt in our young hearts.

The divorce of parents can cause uncertainty and fear of change.

As an adult, an illness can lead you to feeling completely powerless.

It is not  always easy to tell yourself that tomorrow will be a better day. That next week you will feel like running a five mile marathon.

But what if planting one single positive seed in your thoughts each day gave you back a sense of your own power?

Your thoughts ARE the things you CAN control. Do not get bogged down in the can’t do’s but rather rejoice in the can do’s.

I recently saw a cartoon depicting the social life of a person with an illness. It was a drawing of a man holding up a blank sheet of paper. The implication, of course, was the person with an illness had no life.

Ugh! I wanted to scream!

I could only think that to thumbs up this on facebook would be accepting it as a fait accompli.

Instead, I wanted to take a black sharpie marker and draw in bold strokes people wildly dancing, a couple having a romantic dinner for two or a mother playing with her child.

If your told something often enough, you will start to believe it.
